So, you need a video game party theme for your child's birthday? Look no further!
I've had my fair share of these parties and have had to keep the theme fresh, fun and different for each new year they want to have said theme. This specific set of posts will be geared toward a more generic concept as opposed to one specific game (I will post about some of those later).
We used this theme for my youngest son's 9th birthday in 2024, and it was a huge hit. We started by renting a gaming truck, where the kids get to play on multiple screens, any game they want with the black lights and music and everything a kid could wish for inside of a customized trailer. We were able to rent the truck for 2 hours, and while the kids played games in the truck and had fun, parents were welcome to drop off or stay and enjoy some adult conversations. With the party box from Jimmy John's and a veggie tray without having to talk over the children, the parents were able to enjoy themselves too. At the end of the 2 hours, we had cupcakes and opened gifts and sent everyone off with video game themed goody bags! It was our favorite party to date!

To start, we purchased this awesome tablecloth that was perfect to pull colors from (for the other decorations) without being overwhelmed with any one specific color. As any parent knows, a plastic disposable tablecloth is completely necessary for any party involving any type of food and kids that are not yours. What I mean is that we don't know how hyped the kids will be, and at literally any party I have ever gone too, there will be at least one spill of drinks and at least fifty-eight hundred crumbs sprawling in every direction at any given point in time. Save yourself the hassle of cleaning with a cheap tablecloth you can toss out right after.

This plates and napkins party set pairs perfectly with the tablecloth and other decor we chose. Easy clean-up, and we were able to use what was leftover ourselves for lunches and dinners until we ran out!

Above is the link to this awesome cupcake stand and cake toppers!
I opted for a mini cake for the family, and cupcakes for the kids at the party so he wouldn't be blowing candles out on food other kids would be eating.
The stand was super easy to assemble, and could probably fit around 16 mini cupcakes per tier.
For the cake, I ended up getting some generic blue candles along with a red number 9 to bring out an accented color from the theme.
While the cake toppers were too big for mini cupcakes, they would work perfectly on a cake or on regular sized cupcakes. They are pictured to the left on top of the cake.

These balloons were honestly one of the best purchases of the party. While we waited for parents to pick up kids, the few that were still at the house ended up playing with the balloons and getting their last bits of energy out from the sugar boost of the cupcakes.
They pair perfectly with the rest of the decor, and it gives the kids (and even adults) some extra fun!
This next section is for the goody bags, and some (if not all) of the items we included in these party favors.

While these aren't the exact same goody bags we ordered, it contains all of the same items and themes. Along with these extras that are included with purchase, we also added:
-Ring Pops
-Gamer Tattoos
-Multi-Colored Pens
-Light Up Spike Balls
-Mini Slinkys
-Fidget Keychains
While I'm not entirely sure if we added anything else, the items listed were a huge hit!
If you are looking for any theme in particular, or an age I have not yet covered, please comment or message me so I can be sure to post whatever ideas you may want to see!
Above all else, don't stress, care less, and have fun!
